Our Analysis

The Monkey Mat, a Portable All-Purpose Picnic Travel Play Fitness Mat, is an oversized 5'x5' mat that fits inside a small 6"x6" carrying case, altogether weighing only 10oz. Its water repellant custom-made soft nylon fabric not only shakes water right off, but also crumbs, grass, dirt, and other messes. The ties on the ends allows you to connect several Monkey Mats together, or use as loops to secure on the ground with tent stakes (not included, but we recommend light titanium tent stakes stored away from the kid's stuff, of course!). The buckle strap on the carrying pouch clicks securely to bags, strollers, luggage, bike handles, belt loops, wrists, and other extensions. There is also a center loop where you can attach toys and other fun objects for baby to play with. If you want to iron out the wrinkles, simply toss it into a tumble dry cycle in your drier.

For packing the mat into the pouch, the manufacturer suggests grabbing the corner opposite to the pouch, then wrapping the mat around your hand many times until it's small enough to stuff into the pouch. You then zip it shut and clip it to your place of preference.
